QwikTreat™ Porous Duct Sealant with Biocide

The EPA’s website states, “If you have insulated air ducts and the insulation gets wet or moldy it cannot be effectively cleaned and should be removed and replaced.” However, replacement duct in such an area is likely to begin growing mold after just 48 hours. QwikTreat™ Porous Duct Sealant with Biocide is a chemical that is applied with an aerosol spray can for the purpose of preventing mold growth on porous surfaces. Our chemical treatment applies an outer skin to replacement duct that prevents mold growth from recurring. This product is inexpensive, useful, and easy to apply.
Directions for use:
1. Make sure surface is free of dirt, grease, etc.
2. Shake can vigorously for at least one minute after mixing ball rattles to prevent clogging.
3. Point opening of spray button toward surface to be sprayed, holding can 8-12 inches from surface.
4. Press spray button firmly and use steady, even strokes while spraying. Shake frequently during use.
5. If sealant runs or sags, it is being applied too heavily, or container is too close to the surface.
6. For a better finish, apply several light coats 8-15 minutes apart rather than one heavy coat. Any recoating should be done within 3 hours, or after 72 hours.
